Coding for Secure Write-efficient Memories

Abstract: Endurance and security are two serious challenges for non-volatile memories such as flash memories. Aiming at jointly solving the endurance and the security issues in non-volatile memories, this work focuses on rewriting code with a security constraint. To that end, a novel coding model is proposed here. We explore its rewriting-rate-equivocation region, its secrecy rewriting capacity, and an efficient code construction in this paper.

Bio: Qing Li has been a PhD student at the department of computer science at Texas A & M University since 2010. His research focuses on non-volatile memory storage system, mainly addressing the endurance, the reliability and the security issues through information theory and coding theory. He did his summer intern at Fusion-IO(now SanDisk) in 2014 summer.
